These are a few pictures of my first pond. It is located in the front yard of the house. The front yard is severely sloped and this is just the begining of our complete landscaping plan. Eventually we will be placing two smaller walls on either side of the pond where some roses and othe plants will be located. The blocks that create the wall were purchased from our local farm supply store and cost approximately $1.69 each. This by far was the biggest cost for the project with a total of 87 blocks needed for the wall. They were really quite easy to install. They simply sit on top of each other with a lip on the rear bottom side to keep them locked in place. |

![]() | We had a load of top soil brought in for a low spot in our side yard and for this project. It took about 25 wheel barrel loads to fill in this area, with abuot 2/3 of the dirt left for the fill on the side yard. The pond itself was purchased at Wal-mart as a kit that included everything that was needed for the pond. It costs about $90. The only thing that I didn't like about the kit was the waterfall. It is a terrrible black color that is difficult to conceal. Maybe next year I will create my own waterfall. The plants were chosen to accent the walls and the gravel. All in all, I believe the hole scene really draws the eyes toward the pond |
Total cost of this project was about $300. A bargain for the beauty and serenity of my first pond
